Strawberry Honey Challah French Toast Bake
A lightened up overnight french toast bake that is high in protein and low in added sugar. Slight strawberry flavors plus a touch of maple syrup pairs perfectly with the sweet flavor and chewy texture of Breadsmith’s Honey Challah. This recipe makes for a delicious morning treat or Valentine’s brunch and is SO easy to meal prep for any day of the week.
Cinnamon Sugar Monkey Bread
Sticky, sweet, and simply delicious, this monkey bread uses just five classic ingredients and takes less than 30 min from start to finish. My take on this classic treat features Breadsmith pizza dough and a combination of coconut, brown, and granulated sugars for a rich flavor profile. As the dough bakes, the butter and sugar turn into a gooey caramel that is absolutely divine.
Cacio e Pepe
If you’ve never had cacio e pepe, you sure are missing out. It’s a simple but delicious Italian dish that traditionally consists of Pecorino Romano, spaghetti noodles, and pepper (and sometimes butter, too). The term cacio e pepe literally means “cheese and pepper.” I mean…is there really anything better than butter, cheese, and noodles? Yum!
Although the traditional version will always be a fave and there is certainly a time and place to indulge, I am a health coach, so you KNOW I’m going to find a way to create a slightly healthier and more macro-friendly alternative. I love creating healthier versions of favorite dishes so we can all have the best of both worlds in terms of food that is delicious but also good for us on a “more than once in a while” basis. Makes it a bit easier to stay aligned with our fitness, nutrition, and health goals, right? *winky face*
Making Healthy Choices While Eating Out: Chipotle Edition
Chipotle is one the healthier fast-casual restaurants. They pride themselves on using fresh ingredients with no processed or artificial additives…which is pretty impressive for a restaurant chain of their size if you ask me. However, even though Chipotle’s ingredients are better than most, you can still rack up the calories without even knowing it. Stay on track with your fitness goals by following my top tips for how to make your order a nutritious one!
Apple Cinnamon French Toast
A healthy, simple, and easy fall-inspired Apple Cinnamon French Toast. A hearty sprouted grain bread spiced with sweetness and cinnamon topped with apples that have been caramelized in coconut oil and a dash of cinnamon. Add a bit of syrup, honey, and/or a drizzle of almond butter and you’ve got yourself a breakfast! Healthy, nutritious, and absolutely delicious!
Hearty Minestrone Soup
A high fiber, high protein, and veggie packed minestrone soup simmered in a flavorful, fire roasted, and Italian seasoned tomato broth. Delicious with a side of sourdough or baguette and a sprinkle of parm.
